Smartphone are very useful, great and effective when they work at normal conditions. When they abnormal, they are nothing more than expensive paper-weights. If your BlackBerry is unstable or un-responsive, a quick reset is require to get it up and running into normal condition again. Follow below guide to bring your BlackBerry to its normal initial state.

There are three ways to restore a Blackberry Smartphone which are described below, at least one of them will work for you.

1 of 3:  Hard Reset:


  1. Open the Battery cover on the back of the BlackBerry phone. Remove the battery from the blackberry.
  2. Hard reset can be done on BlackBerry Z10 by pressing and holding the Power button on the top of the phone for at least 10 seconds.
  3. Re-insert the battery after a few seconds. Wait for up to 30 seconds and then re-insert the battery into the back of the blackberry device.
  4. Close the battery cover of battery. The BlackBerry should reboot and function normally. You may have to power on the BlackBerry back on with the Power button.

2 of 3:  Soft Reset:


  1. Press and hold the ALT key. This method will reset your BlackBerry without removing the battery. You cannot perform this actions on those blackberries which donot have QWERTY keyboard.
  2. Press and hold the Right Shift key. Continue to holds the Alt key while you hold the Shift key also.
  3. Press and hold the Backspace / Delete key. Also you are continuing to hold the Alt and Shift keys while you hold the Backspace / Delete key.
  4. Wait for the BlackBerry to restore. When it is successful, you will see the screen shutdown. You can now free to release the keys. It may take a few time or more for the others smartphone to return to its normal stage.

3 of 3:   Factory Reset:


  1. Opens the Option on your home screen. for performing a factory data reset, or security wipe, itwill remove all of your personal information and reset the phone to the original state as it was came out of the box now.
  2. Select Security Settings. In the Security Settings menu, select Security Wipe.
  3. Choose what you want to erase. Tick the boxes for each of items that you want to be wiped out from the phone. If you want to erase completely your information, ensure that all of the boxes are ticked.
  4. Enter the given code "blackberry" into the box and then select the button Wipe.
  5. Wait to complete the wipe process. Your BlackBerry will reset many times during the wipe process. Once the phone has restarted, your data will be erased and deleted.
